Everyone knows how important exercise is. It reduces our risk of several diseases, improves our fitness and improves our mood. So why do so few of us (myself included) get in the recommended 150 minutes of exercise per week?

Life gets in the way.

One of the ways to get more exercise is to sneak it into things we usually do anyway. Our minds tend to optimize the way we perform our daily routines. Although this is great from a “optimizing time management” point of view it can be pretty catastrophic for our total energy output.
